Music lessons with JBailey Music are quality at its best. The instructor is professionally trained with years of teaching experience, and strives to give each student a focused lesson tailored to meet his or her needs at every turn. |
GUITAR |
It is the philosophy of JBailey Music that every guitarist should be exposed to a large variety of playing styles and techniques. Once mastered, the student can draw on this variety of skills in order to create his or her own style. Styles taught include rock/pop, jazz, blues, and the classical technique, and even Spanish styles. Bass guitar is also offered. |

VOICE |
Voice lessons at JBailey Music include a variety of genres including classical, pop, theater, and sacred. The studio is familiar with what is expected of trained vocalists on today's music scene and in educational settings and prepares voice students appropriately. Proper technique is emphasized including anunciation, vowel placement, proper pronunciation in different settings and languages, singing technique of a physiological nature, and much more. Additionally, an emphasis is placed on FUN and the enjoyment of the music being sung. |
WINDS AND PERCUSSION |
JBailey Music also offers quality instruction in a variety of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. As seen on the Instructor's Biography page, the teacher is trained in the methods of teaching all of these instruments and is an experienced band and orchestra director. Special attention is given to school students desiring private instruction in the instrument they play or plan to play in the school band/orchestra. |
| MUSIC THEORY |
JBailey Music realizes the great importance of music theory in the studies of every music student. Therefore, the studio requires students of all ages to supplement their private lessons with a basic course in music theory. The approach to this is usually through a widely accepted music theory workbook that takes students through the basic concepts of theory. Concepts are introduced and practiced in small bits at a time as the instructor guides students carefully. Younger students are provided with an age-appropriate approach. |
RECITALS |
JBailey Music offers recital opportunities to all private students twice per year, fall and spring. Students will learn proper performance etiquette and gain experience playing in front of others to build confidence. Participation is not required, but strongly encouraged. The recitals are a "safe" environment for students to showcase their growing skills. |
